THE SOURCE OF MEKONG RIVER

Introduction to
the Source of Mekong River

The Chinese Scientific Research Institute, The Chinese Government Planning Committee Natural Resources Integrate Exploring Committee, The Name Research Institution of National Survey and Drawing Bureau, The Chinese Associate for Scientific Exploration of Origin Area of Mekong River will be making from July to August. Hence there will establish a technology committee. And an exploration team for this action .The members of the expedition and the committee are all famous scholars in this field .There are higher influenced in science culture international authority to every aspect of society follows with interest. .Media of central and local governments will report this action very prompt, continual and higher power .In April 28, 1999 the committee of this action have a press conference in the Great Hall of the People.

Day 1          Hong Kong - Guangzhou - Xining         
Depart from Hong Kong China Ferry Termianl at 0730 am to Guangzhou. Arrive in Canton transfer to airport for flight WH 2350 ( 1730/2230 ). Arrive in Xining, Welcome ceremony. Overnight at Qinghai Hotel.            

Day 2         Xining - Taer Lamasery - Qinghai Lake 
Overnight at Qinghai Lake Tent Hotel.

Day 3         Xining - Maduo                                      
The first bridge of the Yellow River - Yushu ( On the way Yangtze River). Overnight at Yushu Hotel.
           
Day 4         Yushu - Zadou                                       
The Source of Mekong River is on the way. Overnight at County Hotel.

Day 5         Zaduo - Danrong                                 
Overnight at Tent.

Day 6         Danrong - Moyun                                 
Overnight at Tent.

Day 7         Preparation for the horses Yaks and so on    
Overnight at Tent.

Day 8-13     Exploration at the Source              
Overnight at Tent.

Day 14        Moyun - Aduo                            
Overnight at Tent.

Day 15        Adou - Zaduo                             
Overnight at County Hotel.

Day 16        Zaduo - Jingxi forest                     
Overnight at Tent.

Day 17-18    Forest                                 
Overnight at Tent.

Day 19        Jaingxi - Jiegu                             
Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 20        Horse Race at Jiegu                         
Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 21        Tibetan Songs and Dance on the Grassland        
Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 22         Yaks Race and others                     
Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 23        Jiegu - Gonghe                             
Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 24        Gonghe - Xining                         
Overnight at Qinghai Hotel.

Day 25        Xining - Guangzhou - Hong Kong
Depart from Xining to Guangzhou and from Guangzhou to Hong Kong by ferry.

Landcost: USD3575/pax

Service includes:

All transfers, all domestic flights/trainsland land transport, 3 meals daily, service of guide and driver, sightseeing & entrance fees, tourist class hotels on twin share basis, tents in camping section, support horse/yaks and herders during trekking, a welcome and a farewell banquet.

Pax can take airport express for transfer directly from/to airport to/from hotel with USD16 per pax only (we can book for you in advance).
