If those who cannot find time for a longer tour this short but comprehensive programme has proved itself again and again to be one of the ideal ways to gain a perfect introduction to this fascinating country. Designed to total 14 days from point to point, it is long enough to cover the major points of interest, while being short enough to persuade even the most dedicated armchair travelers to pack their bags and explore the real thing.

Strike from north to south, we travel from the modern capital of Beijing to the ancient capital of Xian, site of the world rekowned Terra-cotta Warriors of the first Qin Emperor. Then we fly east to the Yangtse River Basin and the romantic port of Shanghai, with its European skyline and bustling shopping districts, and take a day trip to the charming silk town of Suzhou on the Grand Canal, where once again we step back in to China rich past.

After the speed of China largest city, comes the tranquility and timeless beauty of Guilin-inspiration for some of China greatest poets and painters. After our leisurely cruise through the fairytale landscapes, we continue south to Canton, a warm exotic port at the very forefront of the changes that are sweeping across China.

From here we board the express train to the luxury and comfort of Hong Kong before returning home.
